The Alarm Loop is one of the simplest ways to see how different parts of the School can amplify each other. It begins with a signal. The signal may come from the Body, the environment, a memory, an emotion or a relationship. The Secretary notices it. An interpretation appears. Security responds to that interpretation. The state of the Body changes.
Those changes create new signals. The Secretary notices them too. And now the system has more evidence that something important is happening.
Signal → Interpretation → Protection → Stronger Signal → More Interpretation
The loop can continue even when the original trigger was small.
A recognizable moment
A sudden flutter appears in your chest. The Secretary predicts danger, so you check again. Attention makes the sensation easier to detect, Security raises activation and the stronger heartbeat seems to confirm the prediction.
The same loop can begin with a noise at night or a wave of dizziness in a bright shop. The first signal remains real; interpretation, checking and activation add a second layer.
A different direction may start when you respond to what is actually known, reduce unnecessary monitoring and allow new evidence to enter without demanding instant certainty.
A simple example
A heartbeat feels slightly unusual. The Secretary notices: That felt strange. A sticky note appears: What if something is wrong? Security increases attention. The heartbeat becomes easier to notice. Breathing changes slightly. The body feels different. The Secretary receives new information. Now I definitely feel something. Security receives another warning. The loop grows. The original signal may still be harmless.
But the experience created by the loop is completely real.

The secondary loop+
InsideISS makes an important distinction between the first signal and what happens afterward. The first signal may not be under conscious control. But the system can add a secondary layer: signal, interpretation, monitoring, activation, stronger signal or more monitoring. Sometimes this secondary loop becomes more uncomfortable than the original event. Recognizing the loop does not mean dismissing the original signal.
It means noticing that two things may now be happening at once.
Breaking the loop+
The loop does not always need to be broken by finding the perfect explanation. Sometimes it changes when any part of the cycle changes. Attention moves. The Body settles. New information arrives. The prediction is questioned. The Principal decides that monitoring is no longer useful. Security receives enough evidence to lower the alarm. A loop is a system pattern.
That means there is rarely only one possible entry point for change.
One sentence summary
The Alarm Loop shows how the system can amplify a signal without any single part being broken.
