Anger

“Something in me wants to push back.”

Anger brings energy forward. It can appear when the School detects unfairness, frustration, violation, blocked goals or a crossed boundary. Anger is not automatically dangerous. And it is not automatically correct. It is information plus activation.

Anger can point toward a boundary without deciding what to do about it.

A recognizable moment

Someone interrupts you for the third time. Heat rises and your words become ready before you have chosen them. Anger has made a boundary visible; the Principal still decides whether to speak now, ask for space or return later.

Through the ISS lens

A Student reacts. Security may mobilize. The Body prepares. The Secretary quickly explains who is responsible and why. That speed can be useful when immediate protection is needed. It can also narrow perspective. The Principal's job is not to erase the anger before listening. It is to create enough space that the signal and the action are no longer fused.

What might anger be protecting?

Anger may be protecting a boundary, a value, a need or a sense of fairness. It may also sit alongside hurt, fear or exhaustion, but there is no single hidden emotion behind it. Sometimes anger is simply anger. The useful question is contextual: What happened, and what does this Student need the School to notice?

What can help

Slow the movement from emotion to action. Describe what actually happened. Check the Secretary's story. Notice whether Security has moved into full protection. Decide whether the situation needs a boundary, repair, distance, direct communication or no immediate response. Anger deserves a seat in the Principal's Office. It does not automatically get the final vote.

Anger carries mobilizing information; the Principal chooses how that energy becomes action.
