Identity is the evolving sense of who the School understands itself to be.
Inside the School
Identity stories organize roles, belonging and expectations. Some are chosen; others are inherited from repeated experience or other people's descriptions.
In everyday life
You say, “I am not creative,” and stop before testing the idea. An old description has moved from the Attic into the Principal’s chair.
Later, you make something imperfect and discover that identity can be updated through action. The old note may remain visible without defining the whole School.
System connections under load
Identity organizes memory, expectation and belonging across MIND, CONNECTION and PURPOSE. Fixed labels can reduce uncertainty but also narrow choice. Regulation creates room to treat identity as a developing pattern rather than a sentence that every new experience must obey.
Important nuance
A useful identity can provide continuity without becoming a prison. The Principal can ask whether an old label still fits. Connected paths: The Attic · The Secretary · Self-understanding · Values
Identity is a living story about the School, not a final sentence.
