Electricity is everywhere in the School. Lights turn on. Signals travel. Rooms become active. Systems communicate. InsideISS uses Electricity as a metaphor for the flow of activation and information across the School. It is not one substance and not one biological pathway. It represents the fact that changes in one part of the system can quickly influence another.
The School is connected because signals move.
A recognizable moment
An idea arrives and the whole School becomes ready to move: attention sharpens, posture changes and the next action feels close. Electricity is available and coordinated.
On another day, the same intention meets very little current. Forcing the switch harder does not create supply; the School may need recovery, meaning or a smaller demand.
What Electricity represents
Electricity helps visualize system-wide state. When activation rises, the whole School may feel different. Thoughts become faster. The Body changes. Students become more reactive. Security monitors more closely. When activation falls, the system may feel quieter, slower or less ready. Electricity gives InsideISS a way to show that state is shared across networks rather than locked inside one room.
Electricity and Security
Security can change the electrical feel of the entire School. An alarm increases readiness. More systems become involved. This is useful when rapid coordination is needed. But persistent alarm can keep the School operating at an expensive setting.

Electricity and the Furnace+
The Furnace represents available capacity. Electricity represents flow and activation. A School can have capacity but currently be quiet. It can also be highly activated while capacity is running low. The two metaphors therefore complement rather than duplicate each other.
Electricity and the Mind+
Mental activity is state-dependent. High activation may make threat-related thoughts easier to notice. Low activation may make planning feel difficult. The Secretary does not think in isolation from the rest of the School.
When the flow becomes unstable+
InsideISS does not diagnose electrical problems. The metaphor simply helps describe states such as: too much activation, rapid shifts, low readiness or widespread system response. The useful question remains: What is changing across the School, and what might help restore flexibility?
