Goals

Goals are specific outcomes or destinations that translate direction into action.

Goals are specific outcomes or destinations that translate direction into action.

Inside the School

A goal can organize effort and provide feedback. It is one tool inside Purpose, not a measure of the School's worth.

In everyday life

A large goal—learning a language, changing work or training for an event—can feel inspiring at a distance and overwhelming on Monday evening. The School needs a next action, not only a finish line.

Progress may include revision. Illness, new information or changed values can make an earlier plan less suitable without making the effort wasted.

System connections under load

Goals connect PURPOSE with planning, motivation and capacity. Under load they may become pressure or evidence of failure. Regulation keeps the direction visible while adjusting pace, resources and the size of the next step.

Important nuance

Goals may need revision when information, values or capacity change. Changing a goal is not automatically failure. Connected paths: The Principal · Values · Direction · Motivation
