Thoughts

Thoughts are the stream of words, images, ideas, questions and possibilities moving through awareness.

Inside the School

The Secretary produces many of them automatically. Some are useful reminders, some are plans, some are memories and some are predictions testing what might happen next.

In everyday life

You leave a meeting and the sentence I sounded foolish appears before you reach the lift. It feels immediate and personal, even though it is still one interpretation produced by the Secretary.

A thought can also open a door. While washing dishes, you suddenly see how to solve a design problem that felt stuck all afternoon.

System connections under load

Thoughts connect memory, prediction, emotion and Purpose. Under load they may become faster, narrower or more repetitive. A different direction can begin by noticing what kind of note has appeared—observation, memory, prediction or possibility—before deciding whether it needs action.

Important nuance

A thought can influence emotion and Security without being a fact. InsideISS uses the sticky-note metaphor to preserve that distinction. Connected paths: The Secretary · Overthinking · Sticky Note Check · Thoughts Are Sticky Notes, Not Facts

A thought is something the system produced, which makes it worth noticing but not automatically believing.
