Resilience is the capacity to move through strain, adapt and regain functioning over time.
Inside the School
Resilience does not mean never becoming distressed, activated or tired. A resilient School can still need help, rest and recovery.
In everyday life
A plan fails and disappointment lands. You need time, support and a revised route, but the setback does not become the only story the School can tell.
Resilience may look ordinary: returning to a task, asking for help, resting after effort or adjusting a goal without pretending the loss did not matter.
System connections under load
Resilience is not endless toughness. It emerges from capacity, connection, learning and opportunities to recover. Repeated demand without repair can reduce it; supportive conditions and successful adaptation can help the School regain range.
Important nuance
InsideISS treats recovery and updating as part of resilience rather than evidence that resilience failed. Connected paths: The Janitor · The Teachers · Regulation · Purpose
Resilience is the ability to bend, learn and return—not the requirement to remain unaffected.
