Recovery capacity is how much ability the School currently has to rebuild after physical, emotional, cognitive or social load.
Inside the School
Capacity varies with sleep, illness, nutrition, stress, previous demand, environment and time. The same recovery opportunity can therefore produce different results on different days.
In everyday life
Three days of travel, late meals and constant conversation are manageable in isolation. By the fourth day, the same social plan feels much larger because the School has had little opportunity to rebuild.
Recovery capacity can return quietly: a slower morning, fewer decisions and one good night make ordinary flexibility more available again.
System connections under load
Recovery capacity reflects the balance between what the School spends and what it can restore. Continued load can make every World less adaptable. Regulation may protect the remaining capacity, but deeper recovery often needs time, resources and fewer new demands.
Important nuance
Low recovery capacity is information for planning, not evidence of laziness or failure. Connected paths: The Janitor · The Furnace · Fatigue · Sleep
