Inside the School

Joy provides information too. It can reveal environments, relationships and activities in which the School feels open, engaged or alive.

In everyday life

Good news arrives and you read the message twice. The Body becomes lighter, attention widens and you want to tell someone who will understand why it matters.

Joy can be quieter too: warm sunlight on the commute, a child’s joke, finishing a repair or noticing that a difficult task has become easier.

System connections under load

Joy connects EMOTIONS with BODY, CONNECTION and PURPOSE. A School accustomed to vigilance may rush past it or worry that it will not last. Regulation can include letting positive information register without demanding that it become permanent or spectacular.

Important nuance

InsideISS does not make joy the required baseline. A healthy School can contain difficult emotions and still recognize moments of joy when they arrive. Connected paths: The Students · Connection · Purpose · Motivation

Joy is not proof that everything is perfect; it is one of the School's signals about what feels life-giving.
