Intimacy is the experience of allowing another person closer to parts of the School that are usually more protected.
Inside the School
It can involve emotional honesty, physical closeness, trust, vulnerability, shared meaning and being known. Different Schools need different amounts and forms of intimacy.
In everyday life
You begin to describe a worry and almost turn it into a joke. Part of the School wants to be known; another part is checking whether closeness is safe.
Intimacy can appear in ordinary moments too: comfortable silence, asking for help, sharing good news without minimizing it or allowing someone to see uncertainty.
System connections under load
Intimacy links CONNECTION with trust, boundaries and emotional expression. Too much closeness too quickly can activate protection, while rigid distance limits new evidence. Regulation means allowing closeness to grow at a pace that preserves both contact and choice.
Important nuance
Closeness works best when it remains compatible with consent, boundaries and the ability to step back. Connected paths: Trust · Boundaries · The Students · Security Department
Intimacy is closeness with enough safety for more of the School to be seen.
